The Dawning of Understanding

Prior to graduating from high school and going to MP school, my daughter was a member of an Army Reserve Teen Panel, a part of ARFP.  She'd go to different places all over the country every six months. Participating in this panel helped influence her decision to go Army Reserve and ROTC.  Anyway, turning 18 and graduating from high school ends their membership (she actually replaced her older brother on the panel) and her last trip was to Atlanta last April.

While there, she talked about the day she had the chance to meet Monte Durham from Say Yes to the Dress:  Atlanta.  She was practically giddy with delight and all this uneducated (as in no clue who Monte is) mom could think was "So?"  Of course, Mom has been mom a long time and knows not to say "so?" when she was obviously twitterpated and star struck.  She was even all "squeeing" over his offer to help her choose a wedding gown when the time comes. *gulp*  Again, Mom was just not "getting" it.  *wry chuckle*

So, fast-forward about eight months or so.  In my boredom one day, I discovered Brides of Beverly Hills, which then led me to the original Say Yes to the Dress; and when that season ended and the new season of Say Yes to the Dress: Atlanta started, well, this uneducated mom all of a sudden became...  educated.  :)

I.  LOVE.  Monte!  He is such a riot!!!  No wonder "Mini-Me" was so twitterpated.  *chuckle*

So now I "get" why it was such a big deal.  How cool would it be if she really did get the chance to have his help and know-how to pick out her wedding dress!!!

PS...  Isn't she gorgeous?  Okay, so I'm a little biased.  *tee hee hee*
