Taco Salad (Another Recipe)

Huh.  I normally don't tend to post recipes but for some reason the past few days...  *grin*

Anyway,  we were supposed to have taco salad on Sunday but it got pushed back until today because I went up to my inlaws for dinner Sunday and neither hubby or ds2 were home last night to enjoy the taco salad...

It's something I actually created (with help from nsdxh) 20 years ago, I believe, in Germany.  I'm sure other people do it too so I don't take credit for it.  *grin*

Lettuce
Doritos (any flavor)
ground beef (seasoned if desired)
shredded cheese
sour cream (if desired)
olives
tomatoes
taco sauce (if desired)

(Actually it's al pretty much if desired)

We usually layer starting with the lettuce first then the Doritos.  The cheese comes next so that when the hot meat is layered, the cheese melts.  The rest is added in whatever order desired.

I like using the Doritos (combination of original and Cool Ranch) because the chips are flavored themselves.  I go between using them as scoops and a fork.  It's not very tidy but I'm not afraid of a little mess.  *smile*

Off to cook the beef...
