There was a gang-related shooting at a high school in the Salt Lake Valley yesterday. The victim died as a result of his injuries. It's really sad because apparently the kids involved were all Sophomores and according to KSL, the victim wasn't possibly even in a gang. Such a waste of life.
I guess the thing that I can't figure out is a statement made by the shooter's uncle to KUTV. He told them that his nephew is a good kid and that "He's never been in trouble before." Um, I'm sorry. But if you're allegedly a member of a gang and you're allegedly carrying around a weapon and allegedly use it to shoot another human being because of whatever "gang related" reason, I have an issue with you being called a "good kid".
It's all about choice.
*shrugs* I just don't see how a 'good kid' can have such a cavalier attitude towards another human being.

Add to this the morning news headline of the man who walked into a daycare and started stabbing kids killing 2 and sending 10 to the hospital. It makes me sick. :(
